Do You Use MP3 BLOG AGGREGATORS?

I spend some time on the pages of a couple of mp3 aggregators just about every day, but now I am wondering which is the preferred aggregator of *sixeyes readers? Do you even use one? If so which one do you prefer and why?

For those of you who don't use an aggregator how do you search through the ever increasing mass of mp3 blogs out there?

The two I use are Web Nymph's music page and the old stand-by, MP3Blogs.org.

Another two are The Hype Machine and elbo.ws

What do you use?!

  1. I too use mp3blogs.org. Thanks for sharing the other agregators (although when I'll have time to check them out I don't know).

i really enjoy elbo.ws, having found it the other day when mp3blogs.org was down. its a bit easier to interface with, and just more professional feeling.

  6. I use Hype Machine. I like the pop-up music radio they have where you can just listen to the last 150 songs.

  7. i use a regular news aggregator, SharpReader. it's it's got three panels (kind of like an e-mail program) and you can sift through post titles at the top first before choosing to click which one you'd like to read (and then download the songs from the opened posts).

  8. When I used them, I preferred WebNymph. I've found mp3blogs is unreliable and is crap at updating changed links and new submissions. Now I prefer to pick and choose which feeds I like and add them to my lj list.

  9. i just subscribe to rss and atom feeds for all the mp3 blogs i used to surf to on a daily basis. the reader i use just alerts me whenever one of those blogs' authors posts something new. i have a mac, so i use newsfire, which does the job.

yeah web nymph and mp3blogs seem to the most comprehensive.

that's a strange statement.. i had always thought comprehensive to mean complete or to include much.. while I agree web nymph and mp3blogs are pretty good, they're not as comprehensive as elbo.ws - 367 blogs, 10,668 posts, 12,371 mp3s indexed as i look at it right now. *shrug*

No aggregator--I keep mp3 blogs bookmarked, ten at a time, in folders, then open the folders in tabs in a Safari window, and read each one individually. I just find this more pleasureable. I have 13 folders full & manage to visit them all about 5 times a week, tho' some sites don't update that often.

But then I also have a job where I'm in front of the computer all day ....

  17. I would go into a coma if I tried to use one of those things.

I have about 20 blogs that I check regularly, and then I'll go to other blogs those blogs link to.

It's a maze, but I don't think I could handle thousands of posts.
