From the first listen I felt that
'Portland, Oregon' was a classic - a stone classic. If I hadn't know it was a new Loretta Lynn song off her
'Van Lear Rose' CD w/ Jack White, I would've thought it was an amazing piece of music from the 70's that I had somehow missed.
The rise and fall melody-line of the verses is fantastic and try not to sing along with the
uh huh's. Hard to believe that Loretta Lynn is close to 70 years of age.
