Meredith Bragg and The Terminals: Review: The Departures EP

Meredith Bragg and The Terminals
The Departures EP
[The Kora Records - Jan 17 2006]
*Sixeyes Score: 8.0 out of 10

This is the collection of songs that should push Meredith Bragg and his band, The Terminals, to the fore of the indie playground. Third track, "Let's Start Over", resembles current 'indie band of the moment' Death Cab For Cutie during a power outage while the EP as a whole is acoustic/chamber pop that never fills up all the cracks and crevices... it wisely leaves air between the sounds. Bragg's voice can resemble DCFC's Ben Gibbard, but without his keening overtones and it, Bragg's voice, does a more than adequate job of tackling the ominous task of covering Jason Molina's (Songs: Ohia) "Two Blue Lights".

The songs on this EP are so complete and yet so well trimmed. Each track a perfect haircut, each hair in place... no mousse, no gel, no ozone chomping hair spray... this is all natural. You never looked so good.
