THE VEILS TOUR DATES + MP3s

The band that released my favourite record last year and will release one of my favourites this year is the time shifting band, The Veils. With their sophomore effort, Nux Vomica, coming out in North America April 24th, the record which Europe has known for months and months (the band is based in London), will be reborn and the band will begin it's push to get it heard by new ears. Check the tour dates and get your tickets because this is the type of band that won't, I repeat, won't, be on the indie hipster radar. There's just much too much posturing and falseness in some of the young bands that scream outta the 'indie hipster hive' with an overpowering buzz for me to believe that The Veils' romantic and passionate sound would appeal to your average indie beekeeper. To paraphrase Muhammad Ali, The Veils 'sting like a butterfly and move like a bee'. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it feels right to me.

Here's what the band sounds like live and below are the tour dates. Oh yeah, the band's leader, Finn Andrews, will be featured soon in an exclusive interview with +Sixeyes.

These mp3s are from a Black Session [#251] done for French radio, you hear the announcer at the beginning and/or end of some songs, but the quality is quite good and the performance should get you out the door to buy tickets. And these, save for the cover of course, are songs found on Nux Vomica.
