Tom Waits is different. A combination of talent - a talent composed of a side-show barker, grimy beat poet, moon-struck romantic, campfire storyteller (no, make that bonfire storyteller), and circus midget. The circus midget is his voice - an oversized force with its own arms and legs - perfectly formed, yet somehow strange.
