Former Weezer bassist and The Rentals frontman, Matt Sharp, has released his full length solo debut entitled 'Matt Sharp' (he also released an EP in 2003). This is so far away from what he has done with Weezer or The Rentals - it's all introspective and quietly sad at times, but also beautiful - a surprising result from the former Weezer extrovert.
Here he explains how he came to live and record the CD in a small town in Tennessee.
"I received a call from an old acquaintance. She heard that I'd been looking for a place that was far away from everyone, a place to think, a place to breathe, a place to write and record some very slow and sad music. It was a strange and dark time in my life." - Matt Sharp
