My son was visiting a friend at Harvard and spent the night. He came home to proclaim, "I took a shit next to Rivers Cuomo!" I'm so happy for him. ;)

 

yeah it sucks but months ago i read Rivers said that he wanted to have rap songs on the next album. i guess this is the lame shit he was talking about

 

There is nothing wrong with the new Weezer record. It's a good, fun record. It's not rap, it's not nerdy and I dont know why you are trying to compare them to Beck. Just because they are both signed by Geffen records, doesn't mean they are the same. Beck is something completely different from weezer. I agree that Becks' new album is good but it isn't a benchmark for new records. Anyway Rivers is a great song writet. After all he is the man who disguised a song about male prostitution, as a song about drugs.

i think that is very unfair to say. lets see you come up with something like that!!! i do have to say its not one of the best and rivers shouldn't exactly do the rap thing....but its not the WORST song they have.

 

Uh....It doesn't really come off as rap to me. He's speaking the lyrics, sure, but it's not like rap....

 

I think it is a pretty fun song and its not that bad... Lets face it maladroit kinda sucked ass and the green album.... nar so good... I love the blue album and pinkerton and i love the weezer guys and im just really really excited to see them live... so say what you will but I am to excited to care what you think.... =w= eeeeeee

i have bought weezer albums in the past. i like weezer. when i heard this song i wrote the post in 30 seconds... i still think it's crap in comparision to cuomo's best work.

 

Give Rivers a break he's been going to school for god's sake. The song ain't that bad either, it will make money and ain't that what singles are for? It might not be his best work but it’s a damn site better than all the other crap being passed off as music (The Rasmus for example).

 

Wake up Weezerheads! Weezer's only good when they stick their name on other people's sounds... Hash Pipe was definitively stolen (can't remember if they won or lost the lawsuit, but it doesn't matter in my mind), so I have to assume that's their modus operandi

 

Not a hige Weezer fan here but I do like much of what they have done. I think Beverly Hills is one of the better songs they've done. It sticks in my head all day long! I love it even if it is cheezy pop radio music.
