I'm very pleased to announce that Irishman Dale Grundle's musical project, The Sleeping Years, has been signed to the fantastic little French indie label, Talitres. Here's the news I received:
The debut album is planned for release through Talitres in Feb/March 2008.
The third EP 'Clocks and clones' will be released on CD in October through TSY. Once again it will be limited to 750 copies and will come in a new handmade sleeve designed by Pika Pika and signed and numbered by Dale. The 5 track EP will be the last release by The Sleeping Years for 2007.
In the meantime, the first two EPs ('You and me against the world' and 'Setting fire to sleepy towns') have just been made available for download through TSY Records/IODA. The EPs are for sale currently on Emusic but will be appearing on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, etc over the next few weeks.
'Setting fire to sleepy towns' EP is currently still available on CD from the website at www.sleepingyears.com and from Rough Trade shops, London and FNAC Forum des Halles and Bastille, Paris.

Here's some glowing press he's garnered recently:
‘A very beautiful mini-album’
Rolling Stone
'a one-man show that owes his lilting metaphysical lyricism to the
likes of Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and John Martyn. It's good to know
that there are people like him out there'
Dazed and Confused
'acoustic twists and turns, pulsing piano refrains and sublimely-spun
vocal inflections. It’s all monumentally magical.'
Drowned in Sound
'intimate tales delivered in a voice with softened edges, like an actor whispering their lines.'
Sixeyes
’Engagingly mournful, melodic songcraft'
