The LA band, Cassorla, have a new single, "Broke Down", and it's a wild cross of Akron Family fire and Gomez's white boy grit that you'll hear on this standout track from their upcoming full length, Plastic. The video for the single features Bill Cosby as his TV persona, Cliff Huxtable, a decision which the vid's director, Louis Fried, probably feels is perfectly reasonable seeing as Cosby is from Philadelphia, as is Cassorla leader, Ben Cassorla. Watching this almost makes me want to pull out a hideous 80's Dad sweater, or at least hunt one down at Value Village, and dance around with Cliff and Clair.

The disc won't be out until later this year but that isn't all... the bands says that they're almost done recording their Friendly Benefits EP, which features Eric Earley of Blitzen Trapper, Angel Deradoorian , Christopher 'Crash' Richard of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Krystle Warren, Henry Wolfe, and Aubrey Plaza on sax. They sound excited when exclaiming that... 'in a few more weeks everything's going to the mixers'.
