Andre Ethier Loses his Fangs But Not His Venom

Canadian blues rock band The Deadly Snakes have mined the southern soul of Memphis since their inception in 1996. Now, with the release of Andre Ethier With Christopher Sandes Featuring Pickles and Price (Sonic Unyon), Snakes leader Andre Ethier has stepped waist deep into the rollicking, bluesy, folk-rock of The Band and even Dylan - most notably in Dear John - the most Dylanesque track. At times several tracks even bring to mind very early Elton John circa Tumbleweed Connection.
This first and hopefully not last solo effort of Ethier's is full of extremely loose, live-off-the-floor, nuggets. Standouts for me being Little Saddy and Requiem for Man and Family.
